We are proud to be a certified Fairtrade Church.
This means we have committed to serving fairly traded tea and coffee (and sugar) at our services and other events, to support the annual Fairtrade fortnight (in February each year till 2023, but in September from 2024 onwards) and to ensure that the promotion of trade justice is included as part of our regular discipleship programme (e.g. sermons and growth group programmes).
For many years we have stocked small quantities of Fairtrade goods as an outpost of Traidcraft which was one of the companies responsible for establishing the Fairtrade Foundation. Sadly, the Covid pandemic caused Traidcraft to cease trading, so our work in this regard has ceased. However, we also made regular donations to the company’s sister development charity, Traidcraft Exchange (now Transform Trade), following our Lent Lunches, and we will be looking to do this, or something similar going forwards.

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
Micah 6:8
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.
