The thirty-sixth question in our catechism is:
“Should the customs and liturgy of the church be the same everywhere?”
The answer is:
“No. It is not necessary that they should be the same everywhere. They may be changed according to local custom and etiquette so long as there is nothing which is contrary to God’s word.”
