The forty-second question in our catechism is:
“Why should we reject Roman Catholic doctrines of purgatory, indulgences, worship, and adoration, as well as images, icons, relics, and praying to the saints?”
The answer is:
“Because these are human inventions which are contrary to the Scriptures.”
